One of the leading cybersecurity centres – the Ariel University centre for innovation and cybersecurity in Israel – praised the activities of the Black Sea Security Academy at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” and recognized it as a regional leader in cyber and national security.
On the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the Russian Centre of the VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" hosted the traditional Christmas tree, which included fourth-graders studying Russian at "Naiden Gerov" Secondary School in Varna, led by their teacher Natalia Anastasova.
Professor Daniel Zizzo is the Academic Dean and Head of School for the School of Economics at the University of Queensland, Australia. Professor Zizzo is primarily an experimental and behavioural economist, and his research is motivated by the search for more realistic empirical and theoretical foundations of economic decision-making, using mainly experimental, but also analytical and computational methods as required.
The 13th Annual Student Awards of Varna Municipality were presented today at a solemn ceremony. Students from Varna Free University hold first place in two categories.
Assoc. Prof. Milena Kichekova, PhD - Head of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Facilities at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Scientific and Technical Union for Construction in Bulgaria. This happened at the General Assembly of the branch organization, which was held in Sofia.
With festive fireworks and high spirits the lights of the Christmas tree of Varna Free University shone. Students, staff, faculty, and guests drew their fortune slips for the new year.
The Vice President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" took part in the discussions on amending the bill to the higher education held in the Committee in Science and Education at the National Assembly. Yani Yanev declared the opinion of the academic community of Varna Free University - the bill offers good solutions, but there are problematic issues that need to be carefully analyzed between the first and second reading of the bill. Regarding the development of the national map of higher education, Yani Yanev said that it is important that the basic criteria, requirements, principles and policies of its development to be laid down in the law. This will ensure stability that is not influenced by political influences.
Special guests of Varna Free University today were students from the Vocational High School of Engineering and Light Industry in the town of Popovo. They visited students majoring in "Fashion Design" and took part in an interactive seminar on zero waste design and a workshop in which they created their own models. The girls who study in grades 8, 10 and 12 in the specialty "Dress maker" and "Model Maker" have been challenged to design clothes or accessories out of one material in one hour. The aim which was to make a unique product with zero waste was met by all eight teams. They designed skirts, blouses, handbags, and some of the items transformed into a different look. The 12th graders were the fastest. They want to study at Varna Free University and dream of a career in fashion.
