The Black Sea Security Academy will hold a master class in Cybersecurity Framework Practitioner Training for Professionals at Varna Free University on 23 and 24 November. It will feature students from the Military Academy “G.S. Rakovski” and from the master’s degree programmes at VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar”. The lecturer will be Dr. Moti Zwiiling, leading expert at Ariel Cyber Innovation Center.
The first stage of the defence of the diploma theses of the students majoring in the master's degree programme in Circular Economy ended. The programme is supported by the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment. "The results of the graduates from training and defence are of very high applied value. The students' research will be included in a brochure designed for municipal councilors, district mayors and the administration of Varna. A meeting with representatives of business, professional chambers and local authorities is to be organized, where the graduates will present their research, results and recommendations," said Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. - Chairperson of the Examination Committee and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar”.
Bridges made from 500 g of spaghetti bear loads of over 13 kg, and with a spaghetti spherical dome one can design an observatory, a dome of a church, a modern science museum or even a stadium. The 6 university student and 13 school student teams participating in the Varna Spaghetti Engineering International Competition for Creative Skills showed this yesterday. The event is being held for the seventh consecutive year at Varna Free University at the discretion of the Department of Construction of Buildings and Structures. The team of the competition, headed by Assoc. Prof. Milena Kichekova, PhD won the prestigious Varna Award for 2019.
Students of VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar” participate in the 9th International Scientific and Practical Seminar entitled Training in Translation Mastery held at Paisiy Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. The ninth edition of the seminar is dedicated to the year of theatre in Russia and is on the topic of Theatre as Translation and Translation as Theatre.
The President of Varna Free University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov and the Rector of the Kazan Federal University Ilshat Gafurov signed a memorandum of understanding. The memorandum marks the beginning of the development of international cooperation and strengthening of relations in the field of education and science between the two universities. It enables the scientists from Varna Free University to do research in the laboratories of KFU - one of the leading in the world and to make joint scientific publications with the best Russian scientists in Scopus editions.
For the seventh consecutive year, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" has organized and hosted Varna Spaghetti Engineering international competition for creative skills.
Students of the master's degree programmes in Circular Economy and Tax and Customs Control, who study at the Smolyan Branch of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", visited the International Fair in Plovdiv and were welcomed by Dr. Ivan Sokolov, Chief Executive of the International Fair in Plovdiv, who told them about the structure and organization of the fair complex, which is among the leaders of the exhibition industry in Southeast Europe.

The national competition for school and university students and students for data and knowledge mining "QUERYADA" will be held at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" on 9 and 10 November 2019. The initiator and organizer of the event for the fifth consecutive year is the Department of Informatics of the university. The competition (in-person and online) will involve the teams of Varna Free University, Varna University of Economics, Gabrovo Technical University, Mining and Geology University, Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, the Mathematical Secondary School and Kliment Ohridski Secondary School in the seaside capital. Foreign participants will join online.
