Special guests of Varna Free University today were students from the Vocational High School of Engineering and Light Industry in the town of Popovo. They visited students majoring in "Fashion Design" and took part in an interactive seminar on zero waste design and a workshop in which they created their own models. The girls who study in grades 8, 10 and 12 in the specialty "Dress maker" and "Model Maker" have been challenged to design clothes or accessories out of one material in one hour. The aim which was to make a unique product with zero waste was met by all eight teams. They designed skirts, blouses, handbags, and some of the items transformed into a different look. The 12th graders were the fastest. They want to study at Varna Free University and dream of a career in fashion.

The Leaders Lectures |Series at Varna Free University "Chernorisets Hrabar" started with an impressive lecture delivered by Col. (Retired) Yitzhak Turgeman - former Director of the Ministry of Defense of Israel for Social Policies and member of the board of trustees of the Black Sea Security Academy. The event is organized by the Black Sea Security Academy and is financially supported by Guzik Technical Enterprises - USA.
For the first time in Bulgaria a university will be established in the Cloud, a space will be created - a model for an innovative technological educational environment and a teacher training center will be launched on the territory of Varna Free University. This will be part of the pilot project of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar” and the Creative Training Center for the implementation of Google G suite at the university. The partnership is based on a signed memorandum between the two organizations.
A congratulatory address was sent to the students of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" by Prof. Dr. Peter Hristov - Rector of the University, on the occasion of the holiday of the Bulgarian academic community.
Two projects of the Students' Union of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" have been nominated for "Best Volunteer Initiative" in the competition of the National Alliance for Work with Volunteers and the Tulip Foundation. Today, at the Presidency, the organizers handed over the diploma to the chairperson of the union - Dorothea Nikolaeva and to the fourth-year student Sali Svetoslavov. This happened in the presence of the Head of State Rumen Radev and the Ombudsman of the Republic Diana Kovacheva.
Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" was honored as a donator to the Art Fund for 2019 by the board of directors of the St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation for their exceptional involvement in charity causes to help children in need. The prize was awarded to the President of the University Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Nedyalkov by Elena Koseva - Manager of St. St. Konstantin and Elena Foundation.

The Student Council of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", organizes for another year Student Scientific Session entitled Youth, Science, Modern Times. The event will be held on 29 November 2019 at 10:00 in the University building.
