In 30 of the 445 virtual classrooms at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar", students from different majors study foreign languages, including the rare ones - Japanese and Portuguese. Despite the civil emergency situation in the country and in the world, students continue to enhance their knowledge by communicating with native speakers.
Students, lecturers and administrative staff at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” read favourite texts in three languages - Bulgarian, Russian and English. They joined the traditional Reading People Marathon on 23 April, the World Book and Copyright Day. The event was organized by the Department of Foreign Language Teaching and Postgraduate Qualification, the University Library and the Russian Centre at VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar”. This year the marathon was held at the university's virtual classrooms.

Dear university and doctoral students, we are undergoing a serious test. For two weeks now, for the first time we have been in a state of emergency that no one can say how long will take. The civil emergency put through a test the entire process of our educational activity and its administration. We are in a constant contact with the professors and staff of the University and we discuss all the important matters. So today, I am addressing you - the university and doctoral students of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and would like to share a few things with you:
By Order of the Rector of VFU “Chernorizets Hrabar”, the following procedure for drawing up an examination schedule and examination protocols is established from 15 April 2020:
Prof. Lazar Gruev, PhD is a Constitutional Judge from 2003 to 2007 and President of the Supreme Court of Cassation from 2007 to 2014. For five years he has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Law at Varna Free University. The defence of the doctoral dissertation brought together the most prominent Bulgarian scholars in the field of criminal law.
We will learn to be confident when we talk. Let's talk beautiful and fascinating. Just say what we want and we will always achieve the desired goal. Use the television camera and radio microphones to create the magic of persuasive public speaking. So they can believe us! And stand by us!
The Russian Center of Varna Free University celebrated the International Aviation and Cosmonautics Day on April 12 with virtual classes for school and university students. The experts from the center invited the students who study Russian from Nayden Gerov Secondary School into the virtual classroom and told them about the achievements in space. The classes were very interesting for them, and the students prepared drawings on the topic of space. The virtual lesson aimed at introducing the young people to the history of the conquest of the space and the first squad of astronauts, led by Yuri Gagarin, to develop the cognitive and creative activity of the participants and to enrich their knowledge in Russian.
Students from the Master's degree programme in Financial and Bank Management and Marketing at Varna Free University started their studies in the "cloud", said the programme manager Assoc. Prof. Dr. Virginia Ivanova. "Master's students have successfully tackled the challenge of working and learning in a digital environment. For three weeks, they have been in virtual classrooms, making presentations, doing course assignments, using case studies. They all express their satisfaction that the university has created a suitable learning environment and continue with their studies regardless of the current situation in the country and the world. The training united them and gave them additional skills to work in digital environment," commented Assoc. Prof. Ivanova.
