STUDENTS AND LECTURERS FROM VARNA FREE UNIVERSITY PUT A WREATH ON SHIPKA PEAK- THE MONUMENT OF THE BULGARIAN FREEDOM
03/03/2020On the national holiday of Bulgaria - March 3, students from five and lecturers from Varna Free University put a wreath on Shipka Peak - the legendary monument, a symbol of the Bulgarian freedom and commemorated the memory of the thousands of Russian warriors and Bulgarian volunteers who died in the Russo-Turkish War of Liberation from 1877-1878. Traditionally, the Expedition to Shipka is carried out at the initiative of the Student Council of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" and the Russian Center of the University. The expedition is led by Prof. Dr. Galina Chamonina - Secretary General of Varna Free University and Head of the Russian Center.

24/02/2020A Women's Entrepreneurship Centre is due to open at Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” on 26 February 2020. The purpose of the centre is to train and assist young women (up to 34 years) from Bulgaria and neighboring countries in starting and developing their own businesses. It is created under the WOMEN IN BUSINESS project Fostering the Young Women Entrepreneurship in the Danube Region, co-financed by the INTERREG Danube Transnational Programme.

147 YEARS SINCE THE HANGING OF THE APOSTLE OF FREEDOM
19/02/2020Today, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" honoured the memory of the Apostle of Bulgarian Freedom - Vasil Levski. Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD - President of the University, laid flowers in front of the Deacon's bas-relief in Levski quarter. The President and the management of the Student Council of Varna Free University laid a wreath at the monument of the Apostle in the seaside garden and observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the memory of Vasil Levski.

18/02/2020The world-renowned Danish architect and urbanist Prof. Jan Gehl is arriving in Varna to present his new book, "How to Study Public Life". The book is published in Bulgarian by Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". The presentation by the author will be on 5 March 2020 at 5:30 pm at the Graphite Hotel-Gallery in the seaside capital.
