147 YEARS SINCE THE HANGING OF THE APOSTLE OF FREEDOM

Today, Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" honoured the memory of the Apostle of Bulgarian Freedom - Vasil Levski.
Assoc. Prof. Krasimir Nedyalkov, PhD - President of the University, laid flowers in front of the Deacon's bas-relief in Levski quarter. The President and the management of the Student Council of Varna Free University laid a wreath at the monument of the Apostle in the seaside garden and observed a moment of silence to pay tribute to the memory of Vasil Levski.
Hundreds of Varna residents took part in the ceremony to pay tribute to the Apostle. The Mayor Ivan Portnih, the Regional Governor Stoyan Pasev, the President of the Municipal Council Todor Balabanov, the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Varna Vladimir Klimanov, honorary consuls, representatives of cultural institutions, political parties, non-governmental organizations, social, educational and children's institutions, participated in the ceremony citizens. A prayer for eternal peace was served by representatives of the Varna and Veliki Preslav diocese.
