The annual meetings of the Association of Schools of Profiled and Advanced Study of Choreography and the Department of Schools of Profiled and Advanced Study of Music in the Republic of Bulgaria of the European Association of Schools of Music took place from 3 to 5 March, 2017 at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar". A series of specialized trainings for teachers and pedagogical specialists were carried out within the framework of the event. The three-day educational forum hosted by the Department of Arts at Varna Free University was initiated by Mrs Velichka Nikolova, head teacher of 144 Secondary School "Narodni Buditeli", Sofia. It involved teachers of music, choreography and art and head teachers of schools of profiled and advanced study of arts. Over 70 teachers from 21 schools from around the country made another step to improve the educational environment in arts.
The first presentation in the forum program was given by Mrs Lilia Hristova - Chairperson of the Commission of Education, Youth and Sport of the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria and Director of Education and Youth Activities Directorate in Varna Municipality. She presented the topical issue of the "Role of Municipalities in the Management of Bulgarian Education."
In the next two days, the teachers participated in 3 thematically different necessary for their professional development and received certificates in accordance with Ordinance № 12 on the status and professional development of teachers, head teachers and other pedagogical specialists.
Lecturers of Varna Free University participated as speakers - Prof. Konstantin Kukushev worked with the specialists in music, the PhD student Ivaylo Ivanov - with teachers of choreography and Donika Kirova, PhD delivered a lecture on the topic “Fine Arts.”
The High School of Humanities and Arts "Konstantin of Preslav" invited the participants and shared experience in the management and organization of the teaching process and their active and fruitful work with various public institutions and private partners.
