About VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"

The new Master's degree programme of Tax and Customs Control of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar" offers opportunities for a promising career in the region of Smolyan

    The start of the new Master’s degree programme of the Smolyan Branch of Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" - Tax and Customs Control was given on 5 September, 2016.     The Director of the Branch, Anelia Parzhanova, PhD officially opened the Master's degree programme, which is designed for a broad-based and specialized training of managers and experts with professional interests in economics, finance, management of the offices for tax and customs control, levying of taxes and customs duties of economic agents, customs procedures, tax and customs policy of the EU, especially in the fields of tax and customs control.

    The main objective of the training is students to be well prepared in theory to solve practical problems related to the functioning of customs and tax administration in the area controlled by it.

    56 students will major in the Master's degree programme of Tax and Customs Control in the Smolyan branch. Given the great interest in it, second admissions will be announced.



  V The Vice-Rector of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", Prof. Teodora Bakardzhieva greeted the students on behalf of the President of VFU, Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. and the Rector, Prof. Galya Gercheva, D.Sc.  

    "Master's degree programme with such an area of ​​competence is of crucial importance for the region. I would like to express my satisfaction that there is a support for the initiative of Varna Free University to start together to develop the key priorities of the region in accordance with the innovative strategy for smart specialization. Since you are the first students of this programme, a lot of commitment and responsibilities are required - to lay a solid foundation building up valuable professional capacity and expertise to defend the image of Varna Free University as a prestigious and innovative educational institution," said Prof. Bakardzhieva and wished successful start of all Master’s degree students.



    The Deputy Regional Governor, Mr Andrian Petrov greeted the management of the university, faculty and students: "I am delighted that we work together, we – the local and state authorities and the representatives of the university began working in cooperation. Education is part of the economic development of Smolyan. The more students of our region study here, the more it will prosper. Professionals like you will be required, there are job prospects, and this is one of the main objectives which we, as representatives of the government, strive to implement." In conclusion, Mr. Petrov wished the students to put efforts and desire to successfully complete their Master's degree programme and to fulfill themselves professionally.

    The Chief Secretary of the National Customs Agency - Mr Tsvetan Madanski, who also participate in the process of teaching as a representative of the practice, addressed the students by saying, "I am not here as a Chief Secretary, I am here as your lecturer. I am here to give you knowledge. I would like you after completion of this course to be enriched with knowledge and self-confidence. I wish you success and believe that we will work together for the future of this region. "          Assoc. Prof. Iva Moneva - Head of the Master's degree program of Tax and Customs Control also greeted the students and management, and then the actual learning process started.
