About VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar"

The Summer Scientific Session of the Faculty of Law of Varna Free University was launched on 24 June

    The summer scientific session of the Faculty of Law of Varna Free University was opened with a round table discussion on Seventy Years since the Proclamation of the Republic of Bulgaria. The event was held under the patronage of the President of VFU "Chernorizets Hrabar", Prof. Anna Nedyalkova, D.Sc. The introductory plenary papers were delivered by Prof. Georgi Bliznashki, PhD - On the Republic and Prof. Anatolii Alexandrovich Selivanov, D.Sc.- The Branches of Law of the New Generation: Trends in the Development of  Public Law in Today’s Conditions in Ukraine.



    The participants in the round table discussion considered issues related to the legal and sociological parameters of the parliamentary system, direct democracy and legislature, the legal term of "national security" in the context of its systematic and functional place in the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, the development of the enforcement process, the "border" between criminology and criminal procedure science and others.

    During the session, which started at 11:00 on 24 June (Friday) in Hall 2 of the Academic and Sports complex of Varna Free University, three scientific conferences were held: Development of Law in the Context of the Humanitarian Crises in the Middle East and Ukraine, Changes in the Security Environment and The Fifteenth Scientific  Conference on Applied Psychology - Opportunities and Perspectives.     The topics that were within the scope of attention of the three traditional academic forums were related to the development of law in the context of the humanitarian crises in the Middle East and Ukraine, the changes in the security environment, psychology, culture and subculture.

    The summer scientific session will be attended by representatives of universities and research organizations from home and abroad, representatives of the judiciary, students and faculty of Varna Free University.


    Anatolii Selivanov was born on 9 January, 1945 in Kharkov. In 1964, he graduated in radio engineering and six years later from the Legal Institute in Kharkov. He is a lecturer at Kiev University, Professor, Doctor of Law, Head of relations with the judicial authorities and Permanent Representative of the Verkhovna Rada at the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

    Academic Selivanov is engaged in research on the issues of constitutional law, administrative law and public administration and banking law of Ukraine. He is an author of over 300 scientific publications on topics related to legislative immunity, modern parliamentary and judicial practice, the rule of law in constitutional justice and others. He has participated in the development of socially significant bills in Ukraine. He is an honoured lawyer of Ukraine (1998), and was awarded the Order of Merit 3rd degree (2010), a Diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2001 and 2003), Yaroslav the Wise award (2011) and others.
